Moving On

The season has ended, but the careers of many Wildcats live on. Last week’s MLB draft led to an incredible 11 Wildcats moving on to professional farm systems. The highlights for Arizona were the three players to go on day one. Ryan Perry (above) a right handed reliever was selected 21st by the Detroit Tigers. Next was Daniel Schlereth, a southpaw pitcher, who was picked 26th by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Then in the 4th round, Arizona saw centerfielder T.J. Steele get picked up by the Houston Astros. The second day selections were Gaston (Giants), Berger (Indians), Colla (Pirates), Coulon (Twins), Ziegler (Giants), Glenn (A’s), Guilmet (A’s), and Sedbrook (Cardinals). Definitely quite the draft for the Wildcats, showing how great of a season they had. So be sure to keep your eyes out for these Wildcats making their big league debuts in the next few years.
