Optimism

Well Negedu is officially gone from the University of Arizona, but all is not bad. We lost Emmanuel but have picked up a commitment from Kyle Fogg, a 3-Star from Brea, California. We lost a five star and picked up a three star, which sounds bad, but when you think of recent history, maybe not. Five stars Mustafa and J Mac did not turn out too well, and I would have to say three stars Nic Wise and Jordan Hill are huge additions to the Pac-10 Conference. Instead of the one and done players, we now have a few better role players (Lavender and possibly Fogg) to create a well balanced team that can make a tourney run. Of course it is always great to have that guy, which this year we have in Brandon Jennings. We are low on bodies, but then again we have been the past few years. The word around Tucson (including at RauRaur) has been very pessimistic for pretty good reasons, but things next year might not be that bad. If we are able to keep Nic Wise we could have a very strong line up in a conference that will not be the caliber of last year’s. So maybe it’s time for us to start coming to terms with what we got and enjoy it. I mean we have always been overly optimistic, why change now. It is never smart to doubt the Brandon Jennings effect.
