The Others

All of the talk out of Las Vegas was all about Jerryd Bayless’ stunning performance. But we are here to tell you also about the other Wildcats working on making a NBA team or getting the attention of European teams (which is now stealing players from the NBA, including Loren Woods!)
Marcus Williams (Signed w/ Clippers) - In his 5 Summer League games he averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. But that is because his playing time was cut 60% in his final three games. Williams was dominant in his first two games with 24 points and 10 rebounds in first game and then 23 points and 10 rebounds in second game. Marcus is definitely a Wildcat to watch this year as he will probably play a major role for the Clippers, a team shallow in depth at the forward position.
Hassan Adams (Signed w/ Raptors) - Hassan played great in Vegas and got himself back in the NBA after playing abroad last year. In his five games he averaged 10.6 points and 4.2 rebounds. But the stat that probably stood out the most to Toronto was his 2.4 steals per game. Hopefully these steals turned into some flashy dunks, cause that is what “Hot Sauce” does. (That nickname is awful) Hopefully next year’s dunk contest is between Iguodala, Jefferson, Adams, and Justin Wessel. What a show the crowd would see!
Mustafa Shakur (Played w/ Bobcats) - Mustafa came back from his stint in Poland to test out the Summer League. But it looks like he will continue his stay in Poland after averaging 3.4 points, 2 assists, and 2.2 turnovers per game. Also his playing time went from 25.5 minutes in his first two games to 5 minutes per game in his final three, when D.J. Augustin started playing.
Daniel Dillon (Played w/ Bucks) - Hard to believe, but Dillon was in Las Vegas and even saw some minutes. But he only saw 7 minutes in one game. He made the most out of those minutes by grabbing one rebound, and forever cementing himself in the NBA Summer League stat book. I would kill to be Dillon right now. Hopefully he finds a spot back home in Australia to continue playing in a league more fit for his style of play.
Jawann McClellan - (”Played” w/ 76ers) J Mac was a guy who could have gone out in the Summer League, impressed people with his defending, and even possibly made a team. But for some reason, Jawann never touched the court in Vegas. Maybe it was because people thought he was the Jawann McClellan from Mississippi State? (Seriously what intern knew Daniel Dillon was from Arizona but thought J Mac played at Mississippi State?)
Also of note, Will Bynum made the Detroit Pistons after a great Summer League. Wow! Not wow on him making the team, but wow on him being listed at 6 foot! If he is six feet tall, Wilbur is no shorter than 15 feet. Anyways, congrats Will, you are half Wildcat, meaning you are half awesome.
