Bearing Down in Beijing

The Olympics kick off tomorrow. Or today. Honestly, I have no idea what China’s time zone is. Regardless, I plan on providing a smorgasbord of Olympic news and notes for the Obscure Sports Weekly Faithful in the coming days. As if it’s any surprise, the U of A is sending an unprecedented 30 competitors and coaches to Beijing, meaning our often-forgotten athletes will soon be recognized for their athletic prowess before being immortalized on Wheaties boxes. Obviously the Olympics are more about national than collegiate pride, but folks around the country should find no shame in humming “Bear Down” a few times between now and the end of August. Heck, it’s the least they could do…
Refresh RauRaur.com regularly, as I’ll be providing updates galore. In the meantime, check out this list of athletes who will be competing. I’m sure we’ll see more than a few of ‘em Bear Down and bring home the gold!

All this time I thought we were a basketball school when in reality we were a men’s swimming school. Web master does goazcats have some highlight films of our upcoming freshman class?
