Woah! Football is almost here and our countdown failed. But fear not, there are still Wildcats to be honored. So without out further delay here is what we should have done a while ago.

    • #11 Chris McAlister - In his three years with the Wildcats, McAlister was a 1st team All-American, 3-time 1st team All Pac-10, and was the national special teams player of the year. He was selected as the 10th pick of the 1999 NFL Draft and is still doing his thing today. In a few words, we miss him.
    • #10 Jason Johnson - Johnson is a top 5 Wildcat QB and was the previous season passing yardage record holder before Tui. Plus he did it all under coach Mack, which is nearly impossible.
    • #9 (2+7) Lance Briggs - I do not remember one other person making a tackle when he was a Wildcat. It was actually pretty ridiculous. And like most Wildcats he was deemed too small for the NFL. But a few Pac-10 honors, three Pro Bowls, a NFC Championship, and a multi-million dollar deal later, people are no longer doubting.
    • #8 Dennis Northcutt - Northcutt had 47 straight games with a reception and he only trails Bobby Wade in receptions and yards. Northcutt also was a phenomenal punt returner when his 19 yards per return his senior year was good enough for second in the nation. He was the 32nd pick of the 2000 NFL Draft and now continues the Wildcat legacy in Jacksonville.
    • #7 Willie Tuitama
    • #6 Chuck Cecil - The guy was banned from the NFL for hitting too hard, imagine what he did in his college day! But Cecil was more than just a big hitter, he was at one point the conference’s interception leader with 21 in his career, he had four picks in one game against Stanford, and his 106 yard interception return against ASU remains a top 5 Arizona Football highlight. He was the 89th pick of the 1988 NFL Draft.
    • #5 Antoine Cason - If you did not see him play the last few years, do yourself a favor and go to the archive and watch his Wildcat films. If you can’t find any of his old game tapes, it is okay, he will be doing the same stuff for the San Diego Chargers for years to come.
    • #4 Chuck Levy/Darryll Lewis- Finally we reach the four day mark, and with it comes a very tough decision. Do you go with the Thorpe Award winning, All-Pro Defensive Back in Lewis? Or do you go with the Wildcat fav who was all-purpose, playing virtually every position for the Fiesta Bowl Winning team in Levy? We decided to go with the tie even though Lewis had such an illustrious career because Chuck Levy was the coolest thing in Tucson since Eegee’s.

Only 4 more days until kickoff! Ya!
