If you haven’t heard, Arizona State’s $8 million practice dome was destroyed last night, in a storm of the gnarliest proportions. Pictures of the wreckage make the facility look like it was purchased in Wal-Mart’s camping supply section but, to be honest, the darn thing was pretty nice. In fact, we were mighty jealous — three straight victories over the Wildcats and a 10-win season (among other things) resulted in a pretty lopsided recruiting battle last year. This upgrade in facilities wasn’t about to make things any easier.

But too be honest, I have trace amounts of (wait for it) sympathy for the Devils. Losing $8 million has to suck. Hope they had dome owners insurance…
